Good Deed: #122 Remember Allah in the evening
7:205 (Y. Ali) And do thou (O reader!) Bring thy Lord to remembrance in thy (very) soul, with humility and in reverence, without loudness in words, in the mornings and evenings; and be not thou of those who are unheedful.
40:55 (Y. Ali) Patiently, then, persevere: for the Promise of Allah is true: and ask forgiveness for thy fault, and celebrate the Praises of thy Lord in the evening and in the morning.
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “He who utters a hundred times in a day these words: `La ilaha illallahu, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa `ala kulli sha’in Qadir (there is no true god except Allah. He is One and He has no partner with Him; His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent),’ he will have a reward equivalent to that for emancipating ten slaves, a hundred good deeds will be recorded to his credit, hundred of his sins will be blotted out from his scroll, and he will be safeguarded against the devil on that day till the evening; and no one will exceed him in doing more excellent good deeds except someone who has recited these words more often than him. And he who utters: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi (Allah is free from imperfection and His is the praise)’ one hundred times a day, his sins will be obliterated even if they are equal to the extent of the foam of the ocean.”

Narrated Abu Huraira Allah’s Apostle said, “Angels come to you in succession by night and day and all of them get together at the time of the Fajr and ‘Asr prayers. Those who have passed the night with you (or stayed with you) ascend (to the Heaven) and Allah asks them, though He knows everything about you, well, “In what state did you leave my slaves?” The angels reply: “When we left them they were praying and when we reached them, they were praying.” Bukhari
1451. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “On the Day of Rising no one will bring anything better than someone who says in the morning and evening, ‘Glory be to Allah and by His praise’ a hundred times except someone who says the same as he says or more.” [Muslim]
1452. Abu Hurayra said, “A man came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, ‘Messenger of Allah, what agony I suffered last night from a scorpion which stung me yesterday!’ He said, ‘If you had said in the evening, “I seek refuge with the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created,” it would not have harmed you.” [Muslim]
1453. Abu Hurayra stated that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to say in the morning, “O Allah, by You we start the day and by You we end it, by You we live and by You we die and to You is the gathering.” In the evening he would say. “O Allah, by You we end the day, by You we live and by You we die and to You is the gathering.” [Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi]
1454. Abu Hurayra reported that Abu Bakr as-Siddiq said, “Messenger of Allah, tell me some words I can say in the morning and in the evening.” He said, “Say, ‘O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the Unseen and the Visible, Lord and Master of everything. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek refuge from you from the evil of my self and from the evil of Shaytan and his shirk.'” He said, “Say it in the morning and in the evening and when you go to bed.” [Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi]
1455. Ibn Mas’ud said, “In the evening, the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, ‘We have reached the evening and the kingdom has reached the evening by Allah. Praise belongs to Allah. There is no god but Allah alone with no partner,” The transmitter said, “I think that he also said, ‘His is the kingdom and His is the praise. He has power over everything. Lord, I ask you for the good of what is in this night and the good of what comes after it, and I seek refuge with You from the evil of what is in this night and the evil of what comes after it. Lord, I seek refuge with You from laziness and the evil of pride. Lord, I seek refuge with You from punishment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.'” In the morning, he also said, “We have reached the morning and the kingdom has reached the morning by Allah.” [Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi]
1456. ‘Abdullah ibn Khubayb said, “The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to me, ‘Recite, “Say: He is God, One,” and the suras of seeking refuge in the evening and the morning three times, it will be enough to protect you in respect of everything.'” [Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi]
1457. ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “No slave of Allah says in the morning every day and the evening every night, ‘In the name of Allah by whose name nothing in the earth or the heaven can be harmed. He is the Hearing, the Knowing,’ three times without that ensuring that nothing will harm him.” [Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi]

Hazrat Anas (RA) narrates that Rasulullah (PBUH) said: To sit with a group of people who engage in Zikr after Fajr until sunrise is more beloved to me than all that upon which the sun rises (i.e. all the things of this world) and from after Asr to sun set is more beloved to me than the whole world and whatever it contains – Baihaqi, Isbahani
Action Plan
1. Read after Asr Salaah
1. 
We have reached the morning and at this very time unto Allaah belongs all sovereignity, and all praise is for Allaah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allaah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. My Lord, I ask for the good of this day and the good of what follows it and I take refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what follows it. My Lord, I take refuge in You from laziness and senility. My Lord, I take refuge in You from torment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.’
i. ‘O Allaah, by your leave we have reached the morning and by Your leave we have reached the evening, by Your leave we live and die and unto You is our resurrection.’
In the evening:
(ii) ‘O Allaah, by Your leave we have reached the evening and by Your leave we have reached the morning, by Your leave we live and die and unto You is our return.’
‘O Allaah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped except You, You created me and I am You servant and I abide to Your covenant and promise as best I can, I take refuge in You from the evil of which I committed. I acknowledge Your favour upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sin except You.’
‘O Allaah, verily I have reached the morning and call on You, the bearers of Your throne, Your angels, and all of Your creation to witness that You are Allaah, none has the right to be worshipped except You, alone, without partner and that Muhammad is Your Servant and Messenger.’ (four times in the morning and evening)
‘O Allaah, what blessing I or any of Your creation have risen upon, is from You alone, without partner, so for You is all praise and unto You all thanks.’
…whoever says this in the evening has indeed offered his day’s thanks
O Allaah, grant my body health, O Allaah, grant my hearing health, O Allaah, grant my sight health. None has the right to be worshipped except You.’ (three times)
(ii) ‘O Allaah, I take refuge with You from disbelief and poverty, and I take refuge with You from the punishment of the grave. None has the right to be worshipped except You.’ (three times)
‘Allaah is Sufficient for me, none has the right to be worshipped except Him, upon Him I rely and He is Lord of the exalted throne.’ (seven times evening)
I take refuge in Allaah’s perfect words from the evil He has created.’ (three times)
O Allaah, I ask You for pardon and well being in this life and the next. O Allaah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religious and worldly affairs, and my family and my wealth. O Allaah, veil my weaknesses and set at ease my dismay. O Allaah, preserve me from the front and from behind and on my right and on my left and from above, and I take refuge with You lest I be swallowed up by the earth.’
O Allaah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of he heavens and the Earth, Lord and Sovereign of all things, I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except You. I take refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil and shirk of the devil, and from committing wrong against my soul or bringing such upon another Muslim.’
‘In the name of Allaah with those name nothing is harmed on earth nor in the heavens and He is The All-Seeing, The All-Knowing.’ (three times)
‘I am pleased with Allaah as a Lord, and Islaam as a religion and Muhammad as a Prophet.’ (three times)
‘How perfect Allaah is and I praise Him by the number of His creation and His pleasure, and by the weight of His throne, and the ink of His words.’(three times)
‘How perfect Allaah is and I praise Him.’ (one hundred times)
‘O Ever Living, O Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance, rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye.’
None has the right to be worshipped except Allaah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things omnipotent.’ (one hundred times every day)
We have reached the morning and at this very time all sovereignty belongs to Allaah, Lord of the worlds. O Allaah, I as you for the good of this day, its triumphs and its guidance, and I take refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil that follows it.
The Messenger of Allaah (S) said: ‘Whoever says in the evening:
‘None has the right to be worshipped except Allaah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent.’
…has indeed gained the reward of freeing a slave from the children of Ismaa’eel, and ten of his sins are wiped away and he is raised ten degrees, and he has found a safe retreat from the devil until evening. Similarly, if he says it at evening time, he will be protected until the morning.’
‘We rise upon the fitrah of Islaam, and the word of pure faith, and upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad and the religion of our forefather Ibraheem, who was a Muslim and of true faith and was not of those who associate others with Allaah.’
Abdullah Ibn Khubaib said: ‘The Messenger of Allaah (S) said to me ‘Recite!’ I replied ‘O Messenger of Allaah, what shall I recite?’ he said ‘Recite:
[Al-Ikhlaas]
[Al-Falaq]
[An-Naas]
…in the evening and the morning three times for it will suffice you of all else.’
