Good Deed: #182 Show mercy

2:157 (Y. Ali) They are those on whom (Descend) blessings from Allah, and mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance.

:45 (Y. Ali) We ordained therein for them: “Life for life, eye for eye, nose or nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal.” But if any one remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself. And if any fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (No better than) wrong-doers.

15:85 (Y. Ali) We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness.

21:107 (Y. Ali) We sent thee not, but as a Mercy for all creatures.

3:159 (Y. Ali) It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (their faults), and ask for (Allah’s) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast taken a decision put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).

48:29 (Y. Ali) Muhammad is the apostle of Allah. and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate (mercy) amongst each other. Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the Unbelievers with rage at them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great Reward.

7:156 (Y. Ali) “And ordain for us that which is good, in this life and in the Hereafter: for we have turned unto Thee.” He said: “With My punishment I visit whom I will; but My mercy extendeth to all things. That (mercy) I shall ordain for those who do right, and practise regular charity, and those who believe in Our signs;-

The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: “When Allah created creation, He wrote a book, which is with Him above the Throne, saying: My mercy overcomes My wrath.” Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Hadith 416

The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, (may Allaah exalt his mention) once kissed Al-Hasan bin ‘Ali, may Allaah be pleased with him, while Al-Aqra’ bin Haabis was in his presence. So Al-Aqra’, may Allaah be pleased with him, said to him: “You kiss your children. I swear by Allaah, I have ten children and I never kissed any one of them!” So the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “He who does not show mercy (to others) will not be shown mercy (by Allaah).”

The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: “The Most Merciful shows mercy to those who have mercy on others. Show mercy to those on earth, and the One above the heaven will show mercy to you.”
