Good deed #446 – Do not beg

Abu Kabsha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I swear by Allah regarding three qualities about which I will tell you, so preserve them: the wealth of a servant is not decreased by charity, Allah will increase the honor of one who patiently endures oppression, and a servant does not open a door of begging except that Allah will open for him a door of poverty.”

Narrated Az-Zubair bin Al-Awwam (RA): The Prophet (PBUH) said, “It is better for anyone of you to take a rope and bring a bundle of wood over his back and sell it, and Allah will save his face because of that, rather than to ask the people who may or may not give.”
