Good Deed: #124 Perform Salah Duha/Awabeen

  • 93:1 (Yusuf Ali) By the Glorious Morning Light,
Narrated By Abu Huraira: My friend (the Prophet) advised me to do three things and I shall not leave them till I die, these are: To fast three days every month, to offer the Duha prayer, and to offer Witr before sleeping [ Saheeh Bukhari: 1124]

Narrated By Ibn Abu Laila: Only Um Hani told us that she had seen the Prophet (offering the Duha (forenoon prayer). She said, “On the day of the conquest of Mecca, the Prophet took a bath in my house and offered eight Rakat. I never saw him praying such a light prayer but he performed perfect prostration and bowing. Narrated ‘Abdullah bin amir that his father had told him that he had seen the Prophet (p.b.u.h) praying Nawafil at night on the back of his Mount on a journey, facing whatever direction it took. [ Saheeh Bukhari: 1052]

Zaid b. Arqam reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) went out to the people of Quba’ and saw them observing prayer; upon this he said: The prayer of the penitent should be observed when the young weaned camels feel heat of the sun. [ Saheeh Muslim: 1237]

Abu Huraira said, “The Prophet (p.b.u.h) advised me to offer two Rakat of Duha prayer (prayer to be offered after sunrise and before midday). [ Saheeh Bukhari: 1124]6)

Narrated By Buraydah ibn al-Hasib: I heard the Apostle of Allah (pbuh) say: A human being has three hundred and sixty joints for each of which he must give alms. The people asked him: Who is capable of doing this ? He replied: It may be mucus in the mosque which you bury, and something which you remove from the road; but if you do not find such, two rak’ahs in the forenoon will be sufficient for you. [ Sunan Abi dawd: 1285 ]

  • Abu Dharr: The Prophet said: “In the morning every single joint of yours must* pay a sadaqa. Every tasbih is a sadaqa, every tahmid is a sadaqa, every tahlil is a sadaqa, every takbir is a sadaqa, every commanding good is a sadaqa, and every forbidding evil is a sadaqa, and all this is accomplished through two rak`ats one can pray in Duha.”Muslim

The Prophet said: “Whoever regularly prays the two rak`ats of Duha, his sins are forgiven even if they are as numerous as the foam of the sea.” Narrated from Abu Hurayra by al-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majahm and Ahmad.

    Action Plan

    1. Perform 2, 4, 8, 12 rakaahs salah duha after sunrise before zuhr.
It starts from the sunrise to the before Dhuhur prayer.. Yet, the best time to pray it is in hottest hour. Don’t pray it at forbidden time of sunrise or zawwal.
